You've seen it in movies and TV commercials, but visiting Monument Valley on the Arizona/Southern Utah border is a truly awesome experience. Driving the 17 mile scenic road through the park takes you into a spectacular array of mesas, buttes and amazing rock formations rising from an arid desert floor. Sunrise and sunset bring even more dramatic light and colour. Monument Valley Tribal Park rightly claims to be one of the scenic wonders of the world. These pictures were taken in March 2009.
