This is my first ever poem, so please feel free to comment. it's about my cat Reggie, whom i aqquired and didn't really want at the time. I thought i had enough to deal with, after a marrige break-up and my Dad dying. I didn't need anything else to worry about?. Reggie was at least 6 when i got him and is now about 16, he has had lots of medical issues and needs constant medication and vetinarian care.(but he's worth it.)
I KNOW

I got you from a neighbour,
She had to let you go!
I was doing her a favour!
She never wanted you to go.

You came when I was troubled,
I didn't want to know!
I thought you'd be a hassle,
I really didn't know!

Just how much I'd come to love you,
And how you'd help my troubles go.

But Reggie, I must tell you,
That I now know;
The favour was not mine,
All those years ago;

Well it's been 10 years since I met you,
And I wish that you could know;
How very much I love you,
And dread the day you go.
